Cafes at main campus of Universiti Malaysia Sabah

The main campus of UMS is in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, and it’s the biggest among its three campuses, along with UMS Labuan International Campus and UMS Sandakan Campus. Founded on 24 November 1994, UMS is known as one of the most beautiful universities in Malaysia, with amazing scenery, lots of greenery, and cool architecture. It’s also the only university in the country that has its own beach and jetty!
Today, UMS is home to over 15,000 students, with plenty coming from all over the world. The university has 10 faculties offering a wide range of bachelor’s programs — from science and engineering to arts, business, and even food science. So whatever you're passionate about, chances are UMS has something just for you!
If you’re driving onto the UMS campus, whether through the main or back gate, security will check for a registered vehicle sticker at the guardhouse. If your car has one, you're all set! If not, no worries — you'll just need to leave your ID with security and pick it up when you're leaving.
For those visiting UMS as tourists, there's a small entrance fee — called the "green ticket" — which costs RM10. You can grab your ticket at the EcoCampus Visitor Information Centre (EVIC) or the UMS souvenir shop at the main gate. For more info, just head over to the UMS Official Website and check out the EcoCampus Visitor Information Centre section.
When it comes to food, UMS has you covered with around 15 to 20 cafes and food spots around campus. Whether you’re craving local Malaysian dishes or something international, you’ll find plenty of options. Each faculty has its own cafeteria, but some of the most popular spots include the residential college cafes, Marina Cafe, Kiosk KESUMBA, Anjung Siswa Cafe, and Soul Bowl.
