Cafes at University of Science Malaysia

USM (Universiti Sains Malaysia) is the second oldest university in Malaysia, established back in 1969. In 2008, it was selected for the APEX (Accelerated Programme for Excellence), which basically a fast track to becoming one of the top universities. Pretty cool, right? There are six campuses in total, but the three main ones you’ll probably hear about are the Main Campus (in Penang), the Engineering Campus (in Nibong Tebal), and the Health Campus (in Kelantan).
You can visit USM freely, no problem at all. Just a heads-up, if you’re coming late at night, you might be asked to explain your purpose at the gate. And if you’re driving in, make sure your car has a valid USM sticker, otherwise there's a chance it could get clamped (and trust me, that's no fun).
Oh, and if you’re interested in getting to know the place better, the IMCC at USM actually offers campus tour packages. These are great for student groups or visitors from outside the university, some of them may have a small fee, especially if you're not part of a partner institution.
